Brooke Schneid is a Registered Dietitian with extensive experience in both private practice and clinical settings. Prior to joining the GW MFA, she previously served as a Senior Dietitian at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she counseled patients undergoing gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeries. In addition to counseling both inpatient and outpatient populations, Brooke developed and led various nutrition education classes for patients and their families on topics including ostomy management, spinal cord injury nutrition, chronic disease prevention and health management.
Furthermore, in the private practice setting, Brooke has counseled patients on everything from weight loss, sports performance, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, to prenatal nutrition, food allergies/intolerances and cancer prevention.
As a former professional dancer and collegiate athlete, she often writes and speaks publicly on nutrition for optimal performance. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), as well as the AND’s Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) practice group.
Brooke received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago, and Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University.
