Biography

Elizabeth Pocock, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. She earned her medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Following medical school, she completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of California San Diego. During residency, she pursued a post doctoral research fellowship at the University of California San Diego Whitaker Institute of Bioengineering under Dr. Geert W. Schmid-Schoenbein. She completed a Clinical Research fellowship at the Vein Institute of La Jolla under Dr. John Bergan. She went on to complete a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Heart Institute with Dr. Denton Cooley and Dr. Joseph Coselli.
