Andrew Meltzer, MD, MS is an associate professor at the GW School of Medicine & Health Sciences and an experienced emergency medicine doctor who has worked in public, private, university and military hospitals. His research examines real-world medical conditions and practical applications of technology to improve the delivery of emergency medical care with a special emphasis on gastrointestinal emergencies.
Dr. Meltzer is the principal investigator (PI) of a multi-center randomized control trial funded by NIH; he is the PI on multiple additional studies that test novel technology to improve rapid diagnosis; he is an experienced chief medical officer for a successful digital health company; and, he runs the healthcare dissemination organization urgentmatters.
He is currently working on new models of emergency care delivery as a leader of the HealthXDS institute.
