Are you living with: Diabetes, Pre-diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, High Cholesterol?
Would you like to learn to become healthier through lifestyle change?
- The Plant-Based Lifestyle Medicine clinic can help.
- We focus on six aspects of lifestyle change: a healthy plant-based diet, physical activity, stress reduction, sleep health, social connections, and avoidance of risky substances such as tobacco.
- We’ll guide and support you in adopting healthy lifestyle habits. You don’t need to be ready to change overnight.
What is a plant-based diet? A diet built around fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. A plant-based diet minimizes or avoids animal foods and highly processed foods. It can reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and total body inflammation. A plant-based diet also decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers, while promoting a healthy weight which may reduce the need for certain medications.
Do I have to move to a plant-based diet if I come to this clinic? You should be interested in moving to a more plant-based diet, but we welcome you if you are not ready to fully commit. Our team will work with you to make changes at a pace comfortable to you.
