Biography

Dr. Becker is a board certified neurologist with Medical Faculty Associates and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at George Washington University's School of Medicine and Health Science. He is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Becker's background is in general neurology with a special focus on Epilepsy. He has extensive experience treating refractory epilepsy, particularly in patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He also treats patients with other neurological conditions associated with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in adults. Dr. Becker is president of the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry. He is a member of the Health Care Advisory Board of the David H. Lawson Foundation and is a volunteer at the Arlington Free Clinic. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Medical Association. He is a Certified Medical Director through the Society for Post-acute and Long Term Care Medicine. Prior to joining GW Dr. Becker was the attending neurologist and Medical Director of the Northern Virginia Training Center.

Dr. Becker received his BS in Biology from State University of New York at Binghamton where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was awarded the James H. Wilmoth Award for Excellence in Biological Sciences. He attended Medical School at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital/Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, NY. He then completed his Neurology residency at North Shore University Hospital /Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, NY.
