Biography

Dr. Karl Saardi, MD has joined The GW Medical Faculty Associates Department of Dermatology. Dr. Saardi completed his undergraduate training at the Johns Hopkins University and went on to Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School for his medical degree. He is a recent graduate of the Combined Internal Medicine and Dermatology residency program at the Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital. During this five-year program, Dr. Saardi developed unique expertise in managing severe skin diseases both in the hospital and clinic setting. Dr. Saardi has published several manuscripts on skin disease in patients who are on dialysis, severe medication reactions, graft-versus-host disease, and autoimmune conditions.

In addition to caring for patients at The GW Medical Faculty Associates, Dr. Saardi will serve as Director of the Inpatient Dermatology Service in the George Washington University Hospital. In line with his dedication to teaching and education, Dr. Saardi is overseeing the pre-clinical dermatology curriculum at the GW University School of Medicine and Health Sciences for first and second-year students.

The GW Medical Faculty Associates Department of Dermatology offers comprehensive dermatology and cutaneous oncology services, including diagnosis and management of acne and related conditions, psoriasis, eczematous dermatitis, contact dermatitis, warts, skin neoplasia, melanoma cancer, cutaneous lymphoma, and pigmented lesions.
