Laura C. Tilley, MD, FACEP is a board certified emergency physician and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Tilley earned her BS from Wake Forest University, magna cum laude, and he MD from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, where she was valedictorian, Alpha Omega Alpha, and a Gold Humanism Honor Society inductee.
Dr. Tilley served as Chief Resident during her completion of her Emergency Medicine Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. During her 13 years of service in the Army, Dr. Tilley worked in community, academic, and operational medicine to include serving as a forward deployed physician in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In her last military assignment, Dr. Tilley served as Assistant Dean for Recruitment and Associate Professor within the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Tilley's career accomplishments include the U.S. Army Surgeon General Award, the William C. Clements Teaching Award, and the American College of Emergency Physicians National Teamwork Award. Her research interests include disaster medicine, trauma-induced hypothermia, prolonged casualty care, military-civilian collaboration and controlled substance prescribing.
