Mahdis Mansouri, MHA, Tapped to Serve as the Executive Director of Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry at the GW Medical Faculty Associates

ANNOUNCEMENT – The GW Medical Faculty Associates announces that Mahdis Mansouri, MHA, will serve as its Executive Director of Practice Operations for the Departments of Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry. In this new role at the organization, Mansouri will work closely with the chief operating officer and the chairs of each department to help establish The GW Medical Faculty Associates as the preeminent source of clinical care in our region. She will partner with leadership to recruit and highly qualified managers across the MFA’s locations and functions, and provide administrative oversight and support for the service lines within the departments that she serves.

In this role, Mansouri will work in lockstep with clinical operational leaders, physicians, executive management, and revenue cycle vendors to optimize physician capacity, improve financial performance and reduce friction in the patient care process. She will promote value-based initiatives and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives. She will also be responsible for determining and setting the direction for the departments and establishing the most appropriate organizational structure for the administrative and operations areas to achieve optimal outcomes.

Most recently, Mansouri served as the Department Administrator for Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, and Ophthalmology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital where she led and directed all administrative and operational activities within her assigned departments related to patient care, service line growth, IT, budgeting, human resources, revenue cycle, and compliance. She also served as the Director of Operations for the Medstar Orthopedic Institute at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Prior to these roles at Medstar, Mansouri had roles as a Projects Manager and a Financial/Data Analyst at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.

Mansouri holds a BS in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Health Administration from the George Washington University.

She began serving in the Executive Director role on September 26, 2022.
