Biography

Arielle Effron, MD, (she/her) is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist with The GW Medical Faculty Associates. Dr. Effron was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She completed her undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science with a Minor in Biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She earned her medical degree at the New York Medical College School of Medicine in Valhalla, New York, where she was recognized by induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She then went on to complete her residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Effron's clinical interests include all aspects of prenatal and postnatal care, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, comprehensive contraceptive counseling, as well as gender-affirming and trauma-informed care. Effron has a passion for training residents and medical students about OBGYN and enjoys creating an interactive, fun learning environment. She loves to get to know her patients to create trusting relationships with a focus on shared decision-making.  

Outside of her clinical work, Effron enjoys traveling, spending time outside with friends and family, baking, and art.
