Bruce Abell, MD, FACS is board-certified in General Surgery. He is an assistant professor with The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Abell completed his medical training at The George Washington University Medical Center in 1992. He subsequently finished his General Surgery residency in 1997 followed by a Critical Care fellowship from 1997-1998. After fellowship, Dr. Abell joined the surgical staff at GW. He specializes in the laparoscopic management of complex ventral and inguinal hernias, abdominal wall reconstructions, and breast cancer. He is well respected in the metropolitan area for his overall care of critically ill patients. He has consistently been named one of Washington DC's Top Doctors in Washingtonian Magazine.
