Biography

Hannah has always been passionate about improving women's health.

Her education and career began in women's health advocacy work in New York City. While Hannah found advocacy work very rewarding, she felt incredibly drawn to working hand in hand with women to improve their health and wellbeing. This inspired her decision to begin her journey towards midwifery. After completing her nursing education, she worked in a rural clinic serving an underserved and culturally diverse population providing community based education on women's health topics. She then returned to her hometown of Washington, DC to complete her masters degree in nurse midwifery and women's health at Georgetown University. During her training at Georgetown University, Hannah spent a year with the GW Midwives learning alongside them and honing her skills in evidence based midwifery care and primary cesarean prevention. During this time, she also fell in love with GW's unwavering commitment to supporting natural childbirth.

After completing her midwifery training and becoming board certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Hannah practiced midwifery in Pennsylvania for two years prior to returning to practice at GW in 2015. She is thrilled to be practicing at GW where she learned to be a midwife!

In addition to practicing midwifery, Hannah is passionate about community education and global health. She volunteers at local organizations providing community health education to our local DC residents, and she just returned from Haiti with the GW School of Medicine where she provided health care to rural populations.
