Biography

Isha Kalia, PhD, MS, MPH, CGC joined the Division of Hematology and Oncology at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates in 2023. She was awarded her Doctor of Philosophy from George Washington University, Master of Public Health from the University of Southern California, and Master in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College.  

At George Washington University, Dr. Kalia also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Research and Leadership. Dr. Kalia is a member of several professional organizations including the Association for Clinical and Translational Research, the Minority Genetic Professionals Network, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.  

With clinical and research experience in prenatal, oncology, and cardiovascular genetics, Dr. Kalia aims to expand access to genetic counseling and testing services in order to improve patient outcomes through primary and secondary prevention strategies. Dr. Kalia encourages the adoption of evidence-based interventions into routine clinical care to achieve the quadruple aim of enhancing the patient and clinical experience, lowering healthcare costs, and improving patient outcomes.  

Dr. Kalia is dedicated to using genetic information to improve the health and well-being of her patients.
