Biography

Dr. Jalil Ahari is an Associate Professor of Medicine with the Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the MFA. He is also the Program Director for the Pulmonology and Critical Care Fellowship Program, for which he has won "Faculty of the Year" for seven consecutive years.

Dr. Ahari received his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, completed Occupational Medicine residency in Tehran University of Medical Science, his Internal Medicine residency at Prince George's Hospital Center, and his fellowship in Pulmonology and Critical Care at George Washington University. He is board certified in Sleep Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine.

His clinical interests include pulmonary vascular disease with a focus on thromboemboli, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and sleep medicine.

When he is not in clinic, Dr. Ahari enjoys spending free time with his wife and daughter and a good cup of tea.
