Biography

Matthew J. Waitner, MD, joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the GW Medical Faculty Associates in April 2022. He will be working in labor and delivery.

Dr. Waitner has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York (2007). He then completed his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2016. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences in March 2022. During his residency, he was awarded the Intern of the Year award in 2017, and he presented a research project at the conference of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). He also attended the Congressional Leadership Conference through ACOG in March 2019.

Dr. Waitner's interests are focused on women's health, patient advocacy, and quality care. He strives to provide excellent, patient-centered care to ensure optimal outcomes and health care. He looks forward to working with patients through the challenges of pregnancy and delivery as well as urgent gynecologic conditions.
