Biography

Victoria Atchison is a certified physician assistant who joined the Department of Hematology and Oncology of the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates in March 2022. Atchison is currently practicing as an inpatient oncology advanced practice provider at George Washington University Hospital. 

Atchison earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with honors from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2017. She has four years of experience in Palliative Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania caring for patients with serious and chronic illnesses. She is a guest lecturer for the Physician Assistant Program at Drexel University. She is certified in serious illness conversations, having completed the Vital Talk training program and the Serious Illness Conversation program.

Atchison is currently completing her advanced certification in Palliative Medicine and pending publication in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, titled “Assessing Risk for Opioid Use Disorder in Palliative Care: A Quality Improvement Project”. Her current focus is on solid tumors and collaborating with radiation oncology and other specialties to provide the best standard of care. She is board certified through the NCCPA, and is licensed in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
